Doce años después seguimos teniendo la misma fragilidad interna. Una sociedad enfrentada por dos motivos:

 - Una guerra de medios en la derecha que estimula el esencialismo anti-izquierda

 - Una guerra de liderazgo en la izquierda que invita a la demonización del PP.

Afortunadamente la situación exterior ha mejorado. Europa ya no intenta hacerse fuerte contra EEUU. Ahora colaboran. Hoy España no es la punta de lanza de EEUU en Europa, como lo era con Aznar.

¿Por qué el atentado fue en España y en esas fechas y no en otro lugar y momento?

Probablemente porque la repercusión era mayor. No solo produjo un cambio de gobierno, que ya es mucho. Además produjo un cambio en las alianzas internacionales de España, que paso de aliado principal de EEUU a fiel seguidor de Chirac.

Twelve years later we still have the same internal fragility. A society faced for two reasons:
  - A battle on the right wing media that stimulates essentialism against left parties
  - A leadership battle on the left that encourages demonization of the right party.

Fortunately the external situation has improved. Europe no longer tries to rise against the US. Now we collaborate. Today Spain is not the spearhead of the US in Europe, as it was with Aznar.

Why the attack was in Spain at that time and not at another place and time?
Probably because the impact was greater. Not only was a change of government, which is a lot. It also produced a change in international alliances in Spain, which went from main US ally a faithful follower of Chirac.
